Michigan Companies and Asbestos

Ford

We’ve had many cases out of the General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler plants in the state of Michigan and elsewhere. Not necessarily people working on the line; in many cases, millwrights, pipe coverers, pipe fitters that worked in-house. For example, the Ford Rouge Plant had its own steel mill. So, in one particular case, three foundries up near Saginaw, Michigan, we had over 3,000 people that were afflicted with asbestos-related diseases, all working in a very, very dirty environment with limited protection, if any protection, and with no warnings of the devastations that they might face years later from their exposures to asbestos.
