Roofers

Many roofing materials contained asbestos, thus exposing roofers to the harmful material. Roof shingles, felts, tar paper, underlayment, and other construction materials were known to contain asbestos. Roofers also regularly worked around other tradesmen – such as carpenters, insulators, and drywallers, who used asbestos-contaminated materials on the jobsites.
