Mesothelioma afflicts approximately 3,000 people being diagnosed every year. So, every year, there are 3,000 new cases that are diagnosed nationwide. Because Michigan is such a heavy industrial state and a populous state, there was a tremendous amount of exposure in our state. We feel that Michigan proportionately has more cases diagnosed than many other states because of this heavy exposure.
